Standard-tier prices. The egress allowance applies to monthly and yearly plans; beyond it, transfers are throttled by default, with opt-in overage at $0.15/GB. Prepaid drains per second of compute actually used — idle time is free — and bills egress at $0.15/GB from the credit balance instead of an allowance.

What exactly is a credit?
A credit is our unit of compute, priced at $2. One credit buys one hour of the baseline XS engine on our always-warm pool; bigger sizes burn proportionally more — an S burns 2 credits per hour of compute, an XL burns 16 (that's where the per-hour prices come from). Credits only matter on prepaid, where they drain per second of compute you actually use — idle time costs nothing. Fixed monthly and yearly plans don't count credits at all: the price is flat.
What does a bigger size actually get me?
Two things: concurrency and speed. A bigger engine runs more queries at the same time — a single BI dashboard can fire dozens at once — and gives heavy queries more of the engine, so they finish faster. Each size doubles both dimensions, along with your egress allowance.
Fixed size or prepaid credits — which should I pick?
Steady workload (daily dashboards, scheduled dbt runs): pick a fixed monthly or yearly size — it's the better deal and your bill never moves. Spiky or occasional workload (a few intense hours a month): buy a credit pack and pay only for what you burn.
What if I pick the wrong size?
Nothing bad happens. Resizing on the warm pool is instant — no cluster reboot, no migration, no downtime. Start small, watch your usage, and move up a size when you're ready. Sizing is a knob, not a commitment.
Do you charge for ingestion?
No. Managed connector syncs — including full historical backfills — don't cost extra, and there are no per-row fees. The only compute involved is the load step, which runs as ordinary query compute on the size you already have.
How does the egress allowance work?
On fixed monthly and yearly plans, every size includes a monthly allowance for data leaving the platform — 100 GB/mo on XS, doubling with each size (an L includes 800 GB, a 2XL includes 3.2 TB). Analytical results are tiny, so most teams never get near it. If you do: alerts at 50% and 80%, and at 100% bulk transfers are throttled — your bill doesn't quietly grow. Teams that genuinely need heavy data movement can opt in to metered overage at $0.15/GB with a spending ceiling they set themselves. Prepaid works differently: there's no monthly allowance — egress simply bills at $0.15/GB from the same credit balance as compute.
Can my prepaid balance overrun?
No. Prepaid is a hard boundary: you load a pack, watch the balance in real time, and when it's gone, queries pause until you top up. You can never spend money you haven't already chosen to load.
What do I give up by staying on Standard?
Capabilities: nothing — every feature is in Standard. What Standard shares is infrastructure: your queries run on a governed multi-tenant pool with per-tenant limits rather than hardware of your own. If you need physical isolation, guaranteed capacity, or your own network boundary, that's exactly what Enterprise and Enterprise+ exist for.
When do I need Enterprise or Enterprise+?
Enterprise is for teams that want a dedicated cluster — immunity from noisy neighbors, their own exchange infrastructure, custom engine configuration. Enterprise+ is for organizations whose compliance or residency rules require the whole deployment to live inside their own cloud account. If neither sentence sounds like your requirements, Standard is your tier.
